ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COUNSELOR:
Eastside has a school counselor available for the students every day.  The counselor works between both elementary buildings, half days.  The school counselor can provide:
  • crisis counseling
  • educational support
  • referrals to community services as well as short term skills-based group counseling
  • classroom interventions and observations
  • Student Assistance Team evaluation and case management
  • Special Education assistance and information
  • parent and teacher consultation

These services are not intended to take the place of traditional therapy/counseling for intense or more severe issues.  A school counselor cannot provide weekly, one-on-one therapeutic sessions, but will be able to refer parents to qualified providers outside of the school system if they feel that their child needs more help than short-term counseling can provide.

School counseling services are intended to support a child’s learning and promote their ability to participate in the classroom environment.

Your elementary school counselor is Steffany Predosa.  She holds a master’s degree in Counseling, and is a licensed K-12 School Counselor in the state of Michigan as well as a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor.  Mrs. Predosa is available at Eastside during most weekdays from 7:40 am- 10:40 am, or at any time during the day by email at spredosa@constps.org.
